The Guzzi Club Capo di Leuca (www.guzziclubcapodileuca.it) will be hosting the main event of the Moto Guzzi brand Club and its President Massimo Vasquez is going to present Mondo Moto Guzzi 2012: herebelow you can have a look at the prewiew of the event, with places and scheduled activities, some accommodation solutions in hotel or campsite areas, and a 5 days package holiday in villa or apartment offered by SoloAffittiVacanze, the estate agency with whom Moto Guzzi World Club had a previous agreement.

“Mondo Moto Guzzi will be finally in the South of Italy, in the Salento at Santa Maria di Leuca, one of the Italian extreme points. Santa Maria di Leuca is the pearl of the two seas, located between Punta Méliso, the dividing line among the Adriatic and the Ionian Sea, and Punta Ristola which is the last point of the heel of the boot-shaped Italy. Famous for its nineteenth-century villas (Villa La Meridiana, Arditi, Fuortes, Tamborrino, Colosso, Mellacqua, and so on), with their parks and their private chapels with Our Lady's image.

Santa Maria di Leuca, also known with its latin name “De Finibus Terrae" (“End of the Land" ), is famous for the entire coastline full of suggestive caves, whose names often belong to popular and ancient superstitions, like the beautiful Grotta del Diavolo (Devil's Cave) , rising on Punta Ristola and which name comes from the legend of the presence of the Devil making the strong rumbles from the deep of the cave. The wonderful Grotta degli Innamorati (Cave of Lovers), below the Monumental Waterfall, or the Grotta del Presepe (Cave of the Crib) with its wonderful calcareous sculptures similar to the features of the Nativity are famous caves, too. And then, the enchanting Grotta delle Tre Porte (Cave of the Three Doors) with its three entrances accessible only by boat, and the Grotta del Drago (Cave of the Dragon), characterized by a rock that looks like the head of a Dragon, are other famous caves to which the human imagination have given rather unusual names .

Santa Maria di Leuca is also famous for its Lighthouse placed on the Punta Méliso, with its height of more than 48 metre, streaming three beams of light that are visible 50 Km away, and its monumental Waterfall, accessed by two flights of stairs of more than 300 steps each.

Santa Maria di Leuca will soon welcome lots of Guzzi bikes.

At 9:00 – Opening of the event at Santa Maria di Leuca, near Punta Ristola, the south-eastern extremity of the Apulia. Flag-rising ceremony to the presence of the local Authorities and Police. A memory plate will be delivered to the Mayor of Castrignano del Capo.

At 10:00 – Leaving Punta Ristola for the tour of the Ionic Cost of Salento

At 11:30 – Back to S.M. of Leuca , meetig place on the seafront where the Clubs tents are. He frees walk and lunch near restaurants S.M. launchings of Leuca.

At 17:15 – Meetig place by the Roman Column at S.M. of Leuca Harbour, to watch the extraordinary opening of the Monumental Waterfall, when one thousand litres per second of water will pour into Ionian Sea, from the Japigio promontory.

At 18:30 – Going for a walk along the seafront and the seashore. Visit to De Finibus Terrae Basilica at Punta Méliso, the watershed between the Ionian and the Adriatic Sea.

At 20:30 – Dinner in Santa Maria di Leuca restaurant

At 22:00 – Mario Incudine & SALENTRINAKRIA concert performance: a special project from Sicily to the Salento with Antonio Vasta , Mario Incudine, Riccardo Laganà, Federico Laganà, Antonio Putzu and Pino Ricosta. Salentrinakria is the sound of all the floating, sinking and showing on the surface Mediterranean cultures.

At 23:30 – Fireworks display.

At 11:00 – Arriving to Alessano, at Palazzo Legari with meeting of all the Presidents of the Guzzi Clubs partecipating to the event

At 13:00 – Lunchtime in Alessano restaurants, then back to the hotels. Visit to Alessano old town.

At 18:00 – Official constitution of the Guzzisti del Mediterraneo Network in the presence of the Civil, Military and Religious local Authorities, at Palazzo Legari of Alessano (as an alternative, the ceremony may take place at the Council Room of the Municipality).

Memory plates and cups will be delivered during the ceremony .

At the end of the meeting, the money raised from a fundrising will be delivered to the representatives of the Italian Alzheimer's Association.

The exhibition " Old Times Moto Guzzi" by the Moto Guzzi Club of Capo di Leuca will be available for visits at Palace Legari .

Along the streets of the old city , various local food and wine tastings and handicraft market.

At 20:30 – Concert performance by the band “La Quadriglia” of Alessano at Piazza Castello and then dinner at the restaurant.
